I got to flail on Twitter a bit yesterday as it was announced that I’ve written a tale for season 7 of The Diary of River Song. It still feels a little bit unreal. River is one of my most beloved Doctor Who characters, I adore every moment of her, and The Husbands of River Song does amazing things to my heart every single time.
Getting to write for her was just terrifying and brilliant and I’m so grateful to have had the chance to do it (thank you, Matt Fitton), and that I had such a patient, kind, and talented editor (thank you, Matt Fitton).
I’m also trying to pretend I haven’t read the names of the other writers in the series, because they are all so damn good, and have all written at least one thing that I utterly adore and would absolutely embarrass myself fangirling them over.
There aren’t any details beyond the title and writers released yet, but I shall tell you one EXCITING SPOILER. Get ready. Here it is…
…there are no trebuchets in this story. In fact, there is no siege weaponry of any kind. I know, I know, I’m as devastated as you are; I will try to do better next time.
The Diary of River Song, Season Seven, is available to pre-order from Big Finish.
River Song is one of my favourite characters in Doctor Who, so I am really excited about this!
Hurrah!
