The extremely untimely reviews continue! Today it's the ridic fab Face The Raven, which I watched UNSPOILERED originally, but am a bit scared now I know exactly what's coming. OH CLARA. For the first time in the history of New Who, nay, Doctor Who, I can say A WOMAN WRITER!! for the second time in…

Doctor Who – Sleep No More
It's Doctor Who day! By which I mean there is new Verity! out today, so getting back to my Doctor Who reviews seemed thematically relevant. On V!, we're discussing the very first episode of the New Series and it's quite a spiffy ep, of the podcast I mean (the telly ep is quite good too).…
Happy New Year and all that…
Some might argue the New Year arrived about a week ago; these people are, of course, wrong. It was yesterday. That bit before doesn't count because there were floods and I had fake flu, and I wish to start the New Year both well and not feeling faintly panicky every time it starts to rain.…
BBC Shop Loot!
This was going to be a very lovely Eastercon report, but I haven't quite finished writing it yet, and it's getting well into the eveningtime, when the words start to blur into one another. So, instead, here is a picture (which I've put some weird-ass filters on; in my defence I was looking at it…
Doctor Who – The Zygon Invasion
Doctor Who is over for a whole several weeks, alas, and then Christmas, and then it really properly is over for MONTHS, horror, but I stopped recapping in the middle of the season. Apologies to everyone who was reading - I was swamped with work, and it didn't help that Zygon Invasion also marked the…
I live on podcasts and wine, apparently
Yes, I owe this blog, um...four posts about Doctor Who. And I will make them. It's just this has turned into a ridiculously busy time, and I've had to do a smidgen of prioritising, alas. What I have found time for, however, is a few extra podcasts. So if you just have to find out…
Fantasycon loot
Mmm, books. There were many books at Fantasycon, and many freebies, but I was v conscious of the six hour train journey and limited luggage space, so I tried to be strict with self and was less so than I intended but never mind. Books! (Also, cons that give out canvas tote bags with the…
Doctor Who – The Woman Who Lived
Just finished watching last week's ep, and now to TYPE, TYPE LIKE THE WIND. Will I finish my amazing thoughts before this week's episode hits the telly box? Let us see! (Incidently, I can now recommend new eps of Doctor Who as an excellent way to take one's mind off the pain generated by dropping…
Doctor Who – The Girl Who Died
I chatted about this episode on Verity! so, really, do I need to write 2000 words of flail here? Do I? Yes, yes I do. I've started writing a post about every episode this season and I shall bloody well finish doing so or be terribly cross at myself for a lack of commitment to…
Fantasycon, ahoy!
I'm off to Fantasycon tomorrow, which is an Exciting Journey that takes me to places of the country I have never been (Nottingham!), and also makes me change trains like fifty times (three, but still). The programme looks rather spiffy, and I shall be contributing a wee part as I'm on a Doctor Who panel…
