Doctor Who, SFF, history, and other things I think about far too much
I think the theme of these blogs is "nick something I saw on Twitter and turn it into a blog post". It's not the best plan, probably, but it definitely doesn't sound like the worst either. Anyway, there was a meme a few days ago asking for your Top 5 Video Games of the Decade.…
Look! It's Vincent Price and a Christmas tree! If that doesn't make you feel all merry and bright, I don't know what will. Today's post is brought to you courtesy of whoever tweeted another festive pic of Vincent Price that crossed my feed yesterday, one where he was buying a Christmas tree with his daughter.…
For my blogathon month, and not such a cheating post as yesterday, here's a beautiful listicle of entirely sensible opinions. So, the Original Series. Now, much as I wouldn’t call myself a Trek fan, mostly cause I can’t stomach the idea of being called a fan of TNG (I’m sorry, it’s a great show! Many…
...and my brilliant plan was to write a blog post every day for a month. So when the year ends, the first thing I do isn't promise myself that, yes, I absolutely will blog more this year. (Also I failed at Nanowrimo, so to cheer myself up I can fail at this too.) And, I…
A cover for River Song Season 7! Look, there's a nun! That's cause of me, I wrote River pretending to be a nun. In a convent. In the 12th century. There're more details about the release up that the Big Finish website, including a few words about my story from my brilliant editor, Matt…
I'm currently taking part in the #WhoForSchools campaign, a project to raise money for non-profits that increase access to education. Along with dozens of other podcasters and some special guests, I've been part of commentaries being recorded for every episode of Season 26 of Doctor Who (there's one with Sophie Aldred! That's rather spiffy.) These…
I got to flail on Twitter a bit yesterday as it was announced that I've written a tale for season 7 of The Diary of River Song. It still feels a little bit unreal. River is one of my most beloved Doctor Who characters, I adore every moment of her, and The Husbands of River…
A few weeks ago (I know, I'm timely as ever, ahem) Big Finish released the news that there are to be 12th Doctor Chronicles, and the first volume will be released in February 2020. And I wrote one! Which was a bit exciting, both because it's my beloved 12th Doctor, and because it was cool…
After being determined to blog more this year I am, naturally, doing a terrible job of it, alas. So this post is about six weeks late. Ahem. At the end of February my Short Trip and Big Finish’s first Twelfth Doctor, The Astrea Conspiracy, was released. Here’s the blurb: The conspirators sit in Antwerp,…
Almost all years I do very little reflecting at the end of the year as it tends to send me into a pit of despondancy and self-recrimination as I wonder what on Earth I did with the last twelve months. 2018 has been a charming trashfire in many ways, but in my own personal little…
